Most of what goes missing on a prep morning is not something big. It is a charger, a hairpin in the right shade, a bottle of water, or a bag for the clothes people arrived in.
The list below is organised by who is responsible for what, rather than by room - because the thing that gets forgotten is almost always the thing nobody took responsibility for.
1. The dress and the clothing
The dress travels hanging on a solid hanger and covered, never folded. If you want it photographed hanging, bring a proper hanger too - a plastic one shows in the picture. With it: the shoes, underwear that suits the cut, and a spare pair of tights.
A steam iron is waiting in the space, so there is no need to bring one. What is worth doing is arriving with the dress early and giving it half an hour to drop its creases before anyone photographs it.
2. Makeup, hair and grooming
The hair and makeup team bring their own kit, but not yours: body lotion, deodorant, a toothbrush, tissues, and hairpins in your own shade. Add something for stain removal too - a mark on white fabric at the wrong hour is the one genuinely irreversible thing.
And arrive with a clean face and dry hair unless the artist asked otherwise. That saves the first twenty minutes, and those are exactly the minutes that run out at the end.
3. Food and drink
A prep morning runs for hours, and most people in the room forget to eat. Bring something small and savoury, cut fruit, and water for everyone. No sauces, no sushi, nothing that can stain - that is the only reason this sentence is here.
There is a coffee machine in the space. The bridal package also has a bottle of sparkling wine and macarons waiting, so the celebratory part is not something you need to carry in.
4. The small things people forget
Chargers for every phone, and ideally a multi-plug - with several people in one room, a single socket runs out fast. A bag for the clothes people arrived in, so they are not lying on the floor in the photos. And one bag for personal items that travels on with you.
Also: the rings, if they are with you rather than the groom, and anything you want photographed before the dressing - the bouquet, the invitation, the jewellery. Gather them in one place in advance, because the photographer looks for them in exactly the minutes when everyone is busy.
5. What is already there, and needs no packing
In the space: a steam iron, a coffee machine, a dressing room included at no extra charge, and white, grey and black backdrops you can change yourself. There is a lift to the 8th floor, so no dress gets carried up stairs.
